Life=oppurtunities

Hey there! My name is Jordan Duran. I am from the small town of Conifer, Colorado. I am the oldest sister in my family and the first girl in Duran's. I am half Mexican and half Lithuanian. I have lived in Conifer since the day I was born. I am going to UNC to become an art therapist. Right now I am majoring in painting, but I plan on making myself a double major in painting and phycology. I would also like to become a yoga instructor. Yoga is a beautiful thing and I think everyone should do it.  I'm a very blunt person and very aware. I like getting awkwardness out of the way so I'm an introvert. I have trained myself to become more outgoing. I believe in earning everything that you want. It is how I was raised. I was extremely fortunate to receive a housing scholarship, that is the main reasons I am able to be here to earn an education. At home I have one little sister, a mom, and a dad. I also have four pets, Sunny, Lucy, Lila, and Moby Dick. Sunny is my thirteen years old Lab. Lucy is my 6 year old Border collie. Delilah (Lila) is my kitten I just got her in the summer. Moby Dick is my fish that I just got a few weeks ago. Obviously I love animals. When I lived at home I had two jobs. One was a hostess at a bar. The other was the nanny of two beautiful crazy seven-year-old twins. I love children and one thing I want to be in the future is a mother. My dream right now is to go to Africa to help the needy and the sickly. Africa is a beautiful place with a lot of culture and I want to experience that. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. Life is good and I am so happy that I get to create my new life in Greeley, Colorado.

  1. Hi Jordan, thank you for posting your introduction. I enjoyed reading your blog! I bet you miss your family and pets. I've only been to Conifer, CO once, stopped there to eat at a restaurant, this was a few years ago. I am happy to have you in the ET 100 class and look forward to getting to know you better. Also, you may want to consider studying abroad in Africa, you can find more info at http://www.unco.edu/CIE/studyabroad/

I wouldn't be here if I had not gotten my scholarship to. but I am so happy for you, and I am glad you are my partner on the research project. if you do go to Africa? what part of Africa do you want to go to? we need people like you helping children have better lives. I am planning on going to south African next year and I look forward to meeting new people and also exploring new experiences I have never been to.
