What I have gotten from the article that we are currently working on is a new perspective of how teachers grade writing. I think the article was a little hard to read but after analyzing what to do I think that it makes more sense. I understand that there is a certain curriculum that has to be followed but I never realized how confusing it actually was. Like being creative could possibly work against you or being to descriptive could be bad. What? What the heck no wonder it is hard to get a good grade on an essay. I agree in the fact that it could be taught better like one of the scholars was saying. I could see how being to original could be wrong because of how it's not suppose to be an original paper it is suppose to be formal. I wish I knew all this before because my life would be so much easier. I guess good old Bartholomae taught me some good lessons and I am thankful because of it. Writing has never been my strong point and I think that when you analyze something you understand things better. He taught me how teachers are understanding and do know what students are going through and it made me be more appreciative.
