Simon and Sally

Two characters:

Simon the Cat

Sally the pony

Setting: a deserted island

Sally and Simon are stuck on island surrounded by the never-ending ocean. The weather outside is very rainy and humid. The only sound you can hear is the raindrops hitting the oceans surface. Simon walks over to Sally and starts to snuggle up to each other because of the harsh weather. Sally said to Simon, “Let’s stick together.” The sun suddenly came out from behind the clouds giving to two friends hope. Simon spoke out from his silence and said; “ I think this is a sign that we will not be stuck on this island for long. Lets be honest a deserted island is no place for a pony and a cat.” The sand started to warm up below their hooves and paws. The sand to them felt a soft warm blanket, which was unexpected. They both started seeing itty-bitty sea shells appearing all around them. The felt like they were in Salvador Dali’s art piece “The Persistence of Memory.” Not only because time was no longer important but because it was getting so hot they felt like everything was melting away. Feeling overheated.  Suddenly a futon fell from the sky and they were stoked.  Sally said, “ Where the heck is the futon store in the sky?” Simon asked Sally “ Why are they giving out futons?” They had been there for many days and night they ran out of fingers to count on, poor Simon and Sally. Sally was talking and then suddenly—they saw a boat out at sea.  It was almost the spitting image of the show “Naked and Afraid.”  Sally’s hair was an image majestic Willow Tree, it was shiny and perfect. Suddenly the Animal Coast guard found them alive and well and that is when Simon leaned over and whispered to Sally, “I could not have survived without you, friend.”

  1. I thought your character choice was very unique. I never heard of a friendship involving a cat, and a pony. You answered Professor Mckellar's questions well, and the flow of your story was on point the whole time. What made you think to set a cat and pony in a desert? Anyways, I enjoyed your story that made me look at cats and ponies in a different way.

  2. Your story is so cute. Good imagination on the curve ball guidelines we had to follow. Of course you have to end the story with the friendship still in tacked and them getting off the island. Nice story Jordan.
